History

For over 20 years Tenri Embu Children Hospital has proudly served the community as the best private/mission medical alternative in the region. We continue to be dedicated to providing local access to high-quality, comprehensive medical care by offering the latest medical innovations to meet the evolving healthcare needs of our community.

Tenri Embu Children’s Hospital founded in Kenya in 1997 by Kenya Tenri society is a Tenrikyo mission sponsored health facility. It started as a small health clinic in Embu Majimbo estate next to NCPB(National Cerials and Produce Board)  Embu deport to serve the general commu nity.

Kenya Tenri Society is a Japanese mission operating in Meru, Chuka, Ena, Makima and Embu in areas of health, children orphanage, vocational training and agricultural effective microorganism (EM) advancement initiatives. Over the time the Tenri Embu hospital has transformed from a mere clinic to a referral Centre offering simple to complex medical operations.

In its agenda of offering quality services nearer to the people, the hospital has expanded its main facility Majimbo, opened other branches in Embu town (Cathy plaza), Makima, Mwea and currently putting up a new ultramodern doctor’s plaza in Embu town besides managing day to day operations of ACEF Ena hospital as a sister health facility under the Tenri banner.

We have lived our motto “leading you to a healthy future” by providing affordable quality healthcare. This has been achieved by adopting the best medical practice, embracing emerging medical technologies, and employing the best medical and auxiliary brains. We have adhered to all set norms by action and practice and still strive to achieve even higher results.

Ours is a collaborative approach where all players make the bigger picture. The local community, religious and non faith based organizations, corporate, county government, national government and individual citizens interests make the biggest input in our decision making.
